Casa Bătrână este prima dintre cele trei renovate de noi și cea de la care a pornit conceptul Dolina Village. Aici a fost și casa noastră, până casa în care stăm acum a devenit locuibilă.
Numele îi vine de la regionalismul pentru casă veche/ bătrânească = casă bătrână. Construită din lemn de gorun la începutul anilor 1930, Casa Batrână este una dintre ultimele din sat rămase în picioare și cu lemnul aparent.
Prin procesul de renovare am încercat să păstrăm cât mai multe elemente originale ale casei, iar tot ce am înlocuit, am înlocuit cu materiale recuperate (ferestre, ușă exterioară, țiglă). La interior, am încercat sa păstram atmosfera caselor tradiționale, folosindu-ne de mobilier vechi, găsit, în mare parte, la târguri. Din mobilierul original am putut păstra doar un pat pe care l-am transformat în canapea extensibilă.
Casa Bătrână este structurată pe un singur nivel, fiind împărțită in living cu bucătărie, hol, baie și dormitor. Aici se pot caza maxim 4 persoane, dormitorul având un pat dublu, iar în living/bucătărie se află o canapea extensibilă. Dormitorul este dotat și cu pătuț pentru copii cu vârsta până la trei ani.

Casa Batrana is the first house that we restored, and with this restoration, we got inspired to expand and create our own little hamlet, Dolina Village. While working on this house, we did our best to keep its original spirit and the result is a lovely vacation house, decorated in a Romanian traditional style.
This homey old house lays hidden in a small valley of the Zece Hotare village, some 7 kilometers away from the main village of Suncuius, in Bihor region. The name, Casa Batrana, means literally “the old house”, in the local dialect.
This 90-year-old house is now divided in two rooms, one bathroom and a small hallway and is set up with all the comfort our guests are looking for.
The large bedroom is rested with one queen-size bed and one baby cot, suited for children up to 3 years. The traditional, painted closet, offers plenty of space for neatly storing your clothes.
The living room/kitchen is also of generous size and can serve as a sleeping place for two. The sofa is extendable to a queen-size bed. All beds in Casa Batrana have premium mattresses, so you can be sure to get a fantastic rest.
The kitchen is equipped with all you need to cook a scrumptious meal for you and your company: pots and pans, cutlery, plates and a gas burner. There is also a fridge and a dishwasher.
In the bathroom there is a walk-in shower, toilet, and sink. Towels and hygiene products such as soap, shower gel and shampoo are complementary.
During the cold periods, Casa Batrana is heated up with wood. The stove is connected to a floor heating system, making this house extra comfortable for a winter vacation.
The house has a cozy terrace where one can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in all seasons. During the summer, there are hammocks hanging under the old walnut tree in front of the house. The barbeque is there to be used all year long.

Accesibility:
Casa Batrana is easily accessible by car. The road from Suncuius to Zece Hotare is asphalted for six of the eight kilometers. The last two kilometers are on gravel road, accessible for all types of cars.
Parking is at 100 meter walking from the house.

In the house we can host 2 people with great comfort, 2 extra people can sleep on the extensible couch in the living room and there is a bed for one child up to three years of age.

Booking Policy:
In order to confirm your reservation, you need to pay in advance 50% of your stay. You can cancel for free with more than 14 days before the check-in.

Zece Hotare
While in Zece Hotare, you can enjoy endless walks through the forest and hills and follow the hiking trail to the portal of Pestera Batranului cave. Depending on the season, you can search the forest for edible or therapeutic mushrooms. During the summer, you can roam the fields in search of medicinal plants.
For the very active travelers, the are quite some mountain biking routes, crossing our village.
Suncuius
The distance from Zece Hotare to Suncuius is around 8 kilometers. Once in Suncuius, you can visit the Unguru Mare cave, relax on the small beach under a cliff or take on a longer hike to Moanei Cave or follow some of the other hiking trails starting here.
There are also quite some via ferrata routes on the cliffs around Suncuius, thus a great pass-time for adventurous travelers.
Vadu Crisului
The distance from Zece Hotare to Vadu-Crisului is around 15 kilometers by car. There is an accessible hiking route from outside the village to one of the more spectacular caves in the area, the Vadu-Crisului cave. Right under the cave, one can find the waterfall with the same name.
Vadu Crisului is the starting point for rafting and kayaking tours on the Crisul Repede river.
This village is also home to a pottery workshop and is the only place in Romania where white clay is used for traditional ceramics. The workshop is open for visitors Monday to Saturday.
